Challenge
Settle is a digital co-pilot designed to help people navigate the complexity of UK immigration through smart assessments, eligibility calculators, travel tracking, and ongoing compliance check-ups.
The vision was to turn a fragmented, stressful process into a clear, guided, and user-friendly experience that combines legal logic, personal data, and proactive reminders in a single product. However, at an early stage, Settle faced a common challenge:
- A strong product concept, but no in-house technical leadership
- The need to move fast without over-hiring or committing to a full permanent team
- High UX expectations for a sensitive, trust-driven domain
- A requirement to validate the mobile experience quickly
Rather than rushing into long-term hires, Settle needed senior, flexible expertise to shape the product correctly from day one.
Yotewo was engaged to assemble a fractional, execution-ready team that could define the technical direction, design the experience, and deliver a working mobile product within a tight timeframe.
Outcome
Yotewo supported Settle by providing a Fractional CTO, UI/UX Designer, and a Mobile Flutter Engineer.
- Defined product architecture and technical roadmap
- Designed intuitive user flows for assessments, calculators, and trackers
- Built a cross-platform mobile application using Flutter
- Validated core assumptions around usability and engagement
- Enabled rapid iteration without long-term hiring commitments
By the end of the engagement, Settle had a clear technical foundation, a designed and built mobile experience, and the confidence to continue product development with reduced risk.
From Idea to Validated Product Foundation
Phase 1: Technical Leadership & Product Framing
The engagement began with a Fractional CTO working closely with Settle’s founders to translate the product vision into a clear technical and delivery strategy.
This phase focused on:
- Defining system architecture and data flows
- Prioritising features for a realistic MVP
- Choosing the right technologies for speed and scalability
- Aligning legal, product, and technical considerations
This ensured the team built the right product first, not just the fastest one.
Phase 2: UX Design & Mobile Experience
With the product scope defined, a UI/UX Designer shaped the user experience around clarity, trust, and ease of use — critical for an immigration-focused product.
Key outcomes included:
- User journeys for eligibility assessments and calculators
- Clear visualisation of immigration status and travel history
- UX patterns that reduce anxiety and cognitive load
- Design assets ready for development and iteration
The result was a mobile experience that felt supportive, not overwhelming.
Phase 3: Mobile Development & Delivery
A Mobile Flutter Engineer implemented the designs into a cross-platform mobile application, enabling Settle to test its value proposition quickly.
This phase included:
- Building core mobile functionality in Flutter
- Integrating calculators, trackers, and check-ups
- Ensuring performance and consistency across platforms
- Supporting fast feedback loops during early testing
As a result, Settle had a working mobile product ready for user validation and further development.
By engaging Yotewo for a time-boxed, senior team, Settle accelerated from concept to execution — gaining technical clarity, a strong mobile foundation, and momentum without the overhead of permanent hiring.
